Overview A Bayer filter is a color filter array (CFA) that arranges RGB color filters on a square grid of photosensors. Color Sensitivity Digital image sensors can only detect brightness, not color. To produce color sensors, a color filter is applied to each pixel. Generally the sensor is divided into 50% green, 25% red, and 25% blue photosites.
